Astor House

The Astor House is a five-story townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side that also serves as the New York Junior League Headquarters for Training and Leadership. This elegant Georgian limestone townhouse was designed by the celebrated architect Mott B. Schmidt in 1927 for Vincent Astor and his family. It was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1966.

Fourteen private rooms are available for social and corporate events, each offering its own timeless charm and history. Various rooms and seating arrangements are available to accomodate groups ranging in size from 10 to 300+ guests. Rooms with integrated entertainment and video/computer technology are available.

The Playground Improvement Project

The Playground Improvement Project is a New York Junior League signature community project. Since 1992, the New York Junior League (NYJL) has revitalized and beautified neglected playgrounds and parks in many neighborhoods of New York City. In its 18th year, the mission continues as we partner with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to restore Morningside Park.
